10 Lines on “Importance of Water”

1. Water is an essential part of life. Without water humans, animals and plants cannot survive.
2. Water is even more important to people than food. We can live much longer without food than we can without water.
3. A large part of the earth is covered in water. We look around us and we see water in the sea and in the rivers, streams and lakes.
4. Because water is so common we tend to take it for granted. We are used to turning on a tap in our homes and watching water pour out.
5. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of water in countries where it does not rain much.
6. This can also lead to a shortage of food because the crops do not get enough water.
7. They wither and die and this causes a famine. Water is not always safe to drink. Sometimes it contains something that can cause disease.
8. Sometimes it has been polluted by sewage from factories.
9. Water has often to be treated in some way before it is drinkable. Unfortunately, not all countries can afford to do this.
10. Everyone should have drinkable water. Governments across the world should make sure that their people have it.
