Love At First Sight

I am an incorrigible romantic and I absolutely adore “love at first sight” movies but I do not believe in it for real. I am not skeptical by nature but is it possible to fall in love with a person at first sight? You may fall in love with a face or a body or a smile or inanimate objects or even animals but to fall in love with another human takes time.

When you say love at first sight, it is an infatuation. You are smitten by looks or by the manner of conduct or any particular characteristic and you call it love. What do you know of this person but his charming persona? He might be selfish, rude or plain boring. He might even be the perfect man, but totally incompatible with you so how can you say you are in love? Yes, it is possible for you to follow the charm and get to know him better and then over time, if he is still endearing and brings a flutter to your heart, you know you are in love. Love grows on us. Friendship may lead to love and perhaps it is the strongest bond to ever have but the ‘first sight’ excitement is pure physical attraction, which is a very natural, human tendency. It is the first step to a possible love-bond.
