Switch Off!!!
Every year when we go to our native place, we are reminded of how lucky we are to have the use of electricity. Our village still doesn’t have electricity. Everybody lights kerosene lamps and all work is done manually. There is no mixer, no television, and no fan.
Steam is generated by burning fossil fuels. This steam is converted in to heat energy by turbines and then further converted in to mechanical energy which then finally gets converted into electric energy that powers our homes. Fossil fuels are non-renewable and formed from plants and animals that lived upto 300 million years ago.
We must, therefore, make efforts to use electricity wisely, so that our lives, as we know them which are mostly electric power driven may be sustained. So switch off the main plug of all appliances when not in use. Try to use CFL bulbs that consume lesser electricity and check for power saving options in products that you buy.
