Doctors- Our Saviour
One day, Radha went to her friend Mini’s house. She saw Mini’s mother, who is a doctor, examining a 9-month old infant. The child was crying in pain. His mother was looking very perplexed. After completing the assessment, she put five drops of medicine into the child’s mouth. A couple of minutes later, he stopped crying. Now at ease, the mother asked the doctor ‘What was the pain due to, Doctor’? ‘The discomfort was due to stomachache and is quite common at this age’ replied the doctor. She prescribed a medicine for use in case of any recurrences. Also, she advised her to feed only homemade food to the child. She explained that food cooked at home is fresh, clean, and wholesome for the child and thus keeps the risk of allergy and infection at a minimum. The mother thanked her and left.
Radha and Mini cheerfully sat together and mulled over the idea of becoming a doctor when they grow up to alleviate the sufferings of children.
