Our Duties towards Society

We live in a society and partake of all the benefits but forget our duties towards it. We can live individually but can survive only collectively and thus need to have a better societal orientation. Our aim should be to sacrifice more for society than for ourselves or at least give as much as we take. Our attitude towards family life is unfortunately not reflected in that towards the society. People litter the streets, indulge in damaging government property, try to evade tax, and are accustomed to cheating and bribery. These are all apathetic behaviors to the common good and detrimental to a good society. Our duty is to eliminate these evils. Successful societies are those which combine harmonious living and excellence in all spheres of individual and collective activity. Every one of us must be aware of our duties towards society. Then we’ll have a conducive and healthy social environment. Fulfillment of duty is the key to progress.
