The Mobile Revolution
The mobile or cell phone has revolutionized how man communicated. It is simpler, faster and very reliable. The fashionable landline connections are now passe!
Today, mobile phones have outnumbered basic phones and their customers have exponentially increased within the last 25 years or so.
Martin Cooper working at Motorola Company in the USA is accredited with inventing the world’s first hand-held cellular telephone in 1973. It weighed two kilos, had a battery life of 10-20 minutes but had the necessary talk, listen and dial features. Ten years later, the first commercial mobile phones were produced but the prices were prohibitive. With developing technology, mobiles became more user-friendly and convenient to use. The factors responsible for a revolutionary raise in mobile customers evidently are more players in the market, choice of feature-based sets, with-in-reach prices, quick connectivity and people finding its utility in day-to-day life. Thanks to the mobile, we can talk while we walk.
