Hobby

A hobby is a delightful activity which we pursue in our spare time. It is a kind of light work which we do to refresh ourselves. It creates new pleasure, in our dull life. It brings a welcome change in our life. Blessed is the man who has developed one hobby or the other. Those persons who have no hobby waste their time in idle talk. A hobby is both a pleasure and a profit. There are different hobbies like stamp collecting, coin collecting, photography, painting, reading, gardening, singing, dancing, swimming, etc. My favorite hobby is gardening. It is my first love. Luckily we have a small garden at the back of our house. When I enter the garden, I root out weeds, dig up the earth, sow seeds, make flowerbeds, cut grass, and dig land and water plants. This work gives physical exercise to my body and keeps me healthy. I breathe pure air. Various plants make me cheerful and active for hard study after sunset. I have planted a few vegetables also. But above all, I have grown different types of flowers. Their sweet smell makes me cheerful. When I see these smiling flowers, my heart leaps up with joy. This is the salt of life. It keeps me busy and saves me from bad company.
