Saffron Festival, Pampore

An annual three-day Saffron Festival is held in Pampore, Kashmir in autumn (usually October) after the saffron has been harvested. Though still in its infancy, this festival is creating ripples of interest in Purists to the picturesque state, described as ‘heaven on earth’. Like Spain, India is also a major producer of a con, one of the most expensive spices in the world.
