Life In A Big City
A matter of pride and a Good bus service network
It is a matter of great pride for me that I was born in Delhi, the Capital of India, and I am still living here. It is a metropolitan city. From pin to ship, everything is available in this city. I am lucky to live here because it has a good interstate bus service network.
Historical places
There are so many historical places worth seeing here. One can see rare birds and animals in the zoo. Then we have the Appu Ghar. It is a place for children to play with modern toys, which are otherwise too costly for an individual to buy.
Here we can see the Jama Masjid, which was built by the Mughal emperor Shahjahan. Perhaps it is the biggest Masjid in India. The Lal Qila was also built by Shahjahan. There are certain other historical buildings. They are Rashtrapati Bhawan, Qutab Minar, Jantar Mantar, India Gate, etc.
Libraries and Hospitals
There are so many big libraries in this city, where books on every topic are available. Here we have big hospitals like Safdarjung, AIIMS, etc., where well-qualified and experienced doctors take care of patients.
Universities
There are a number of universities and hundreds of schools and colleges in this city. In all these schools, colleges and universities learned and qualified teachers have been appointed.
A great business center
Delhi is one of the most important cities of our country. It is a big business center. Gandhi Nagar in Delhi is the biggest market of ready-made garments in Asia. Darya Ganj is the biggest market of books in Asia.
Railway stations and The Yamuna
There are so many railway stations for the trains to come here. The Yamuna River passes through Delhi. It is a pity that the people do not take much care about it and make its water dirty by taking baths in it and washing their clothes at its bank and letting effluents from factories flow into it.
Fly-overs, Vehicles, Pollution Factories – many shifted
No doubt it is a big city with towering buildings and a great network of fly-overs but it is perhaps one of the most polluted cities in India. It is because of its great population and a large number of petrol and diesel-based vehicles which ply here and there are also so many factories here which spread pollution. Many of them have now been shifted to other places under court orders. Let us take a pledge to keep our city neat and clean and pollution-free.
