A Day with Lord Ganesha

Once, on a beautiful breezy Sunday, we decided to take a trip to Nandi Hills, a famous picnic spot near Bangalore. The road required climbing up LAIC gradient and negotiating zigzag curves. On one of the curves, our car suddenly stalled. Daddy tried to halt the car by applying brakes but nothing seemed to work; the car continued to slide down slope. We were screaming for help but there wasn’t a soul in sight. All of us had a prayer for Lord Ganesha on our lips. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a shadow appeared and inserted a stone under one of the rear wheels stopping the slide. We alighted immediately to thank our godly saver but saw no one! However, the stone was very much there under the wheel! We sensed a divine intervention and returned to the car, thanking the Lord. The drive up the hill was a careful one with all of us chanting Lord Ganesha’s hymns all along.

Such was our day with Lord Ganesha — the remover of obstacles.
