Character
None can deny the fact that the greatness of a person lies in his character. When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; but when a character is lost, everything is lost. Character is not the name of a particular animal, bird or man, but it has its basis in our traditions, our culture, and civilization. If we were led astray from them, we cannot be called men of character. It is only men who make or mar a nation. Force of character is necessary for the uplift of a nation. At this age, we only talk of ideas, but we do not practise them. We talk of lessons taught by our forefathers but we do not act upon them. In these conditions is it possible for us to safeguard our character? A man seeking the road leading to the West will be deemed foolish if he enquires of a place situated in the East. Ours is exactly a similar situation. We brag about the importance of character, but the path we have adopted is one destructive of it. How can we save ourselves? Only God can protect us.
