Close The Tap
Hello, my name is Aarna. Yesterday, I learnt something important at school as our teacher explained the urgency of conserving our earth’s most precious resource, water. It is actually so easy to contribute our share in doing this…I wonder why people don’t practice it.
Firstly, close the tap while brushing your teeth, taking a bath, washing clothes, or washing utensils. Secondly, don’t throw away stored water. Use it for cleaning clothes, filling the coolers, watering the plants, or washing utensils. Thirdly, remember to close a tap which is running dry, lest water gets wasted when fresh supply is released. We should also plug all the water leakages from the overhead tanks, water storage containers, hand pumps, etc to save this very valuable resource. Can you believe that one person can save up to 2.5 liters of water by just turning off the tap while brushing? Calculate the national saving per day if all of us pledge to follow this! The waste curbed can be substantial in the family, plentiful in the locality, and colossal in the country!
I and my family are pledged to this cause…..are you?
