Engineer- Designing and Building
My brother is a civil engineer. He works for the Central Government, designing and building dams, bridges, and roads. Dams are built across rivers to store water, releasing them as per requirement. Bridges are constructed across the rivers, valleys, and railway tracks for easy accessibility. Roads are built to interconnect the cities, towns, and villages.
One Sunday, when my brother was home, my friends d’ gathered around him, asking him about this very interesting job. He started explaining with the help of maps, models, and photos in simple language. Right from site inspection, feasibility study, designing, material procurement to costs and the progressive stages as well as precautions observed, he had the boys riveted to every word. He, next, described the importance and utility of the jobs they do and their significance in nation-building. He finally said that ‘Upholding your honesty and dedication reflect in quality and safety of such structures’. I heard Rahul whisper,” I, too, want to be like him”.
