Picking Up Plastic Bags

I was taking a stroll on the river bank and saw a campaign poster which read – “Help clear the city of Plastic Bags!” The plight of the city really hit me! I saw plastic bags strewn all around. I noticed a bag from a store that had closed over 10 years ago. This made me realize how environmentally unfriendly and non-biodegradable plastic bags really are. I was reminded of stories of animals choking on plastic bags while attempting to consume the food waste inside. I resolved immediately to stop using plastic bags, reusing the ones I already had and disposing of them properly. Additionally, I signed up with a local NGO to go on a riverbank trek to pick up plastic bags and send them for recycling.

I realized that if we showed our municipality the positive effects of our plastic bag picking campaign, they would surely send their own workers to pick too.
