Playing in The Rain
When the rain falls, it is difficult not to step out to soak oneself and play around. It seems like the most fun thing to do and the most logical too! Something that all of us have done as children is making paper boats to set them sail in the rain water. The other favourite activity is cycling through puddles, splashing water all over; the more crowded the place, greater the fun! I have another favourite which is walking in the rain while eating an ice-cream which has never tasted better. Playing in the field while it pours has its own charm as well. Of course, mummy wouldn’t be very thrilled at the sight of mud-stained clothes but would eventually give in! I have had some golden moments, wetting myself in the rain that I can’t think of trading for anything else. I feel that the character of the rhyme “Rain rain go away; little Johnny wants to play” has surely missed a wonderful part of childhood by not playing in the rain. So, everyone there, don’t miss the fun when it rains next time- try it and savour the pleasure.
