A balanced diet
A balanced diet must contain carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, salts and fiber in the right proportions.
Carbohydrates provide energy. Proteins do the repair work in the body. Fats provide energy as well as certain vitamins. Vitamins in little quantities are required to keep the body functioning properly. Minerals and salts are required for healthy teeth, bones, and muscles. Fiber ensures that our intestines work well.
If you do not eat enough proteins it will affect your growth and your wounds will not heal properly. If you do not eat sufficient carbohydrates you will feel weak and unable to perform, but if you eat more than you require you will end up becoming fat. So, the key to a healthy body is to eat everything in the right proportion.
