A Battle Lost
What is living a life but fighting a series of battles? You win some, you lose some. What is important is that you stand right up after a loss and fight your way back to victory again. If that sounds simple, it isn’t and yet, if it sounds impossible, it isn’t again.
A child begins his struggle when he learns to turn around. He then sits up, crawls, walks and talks. Every step of the way, there are hurdles but keen perseverance sees him through. My son had a problem when he was a year and a half, of not being able to say “r”. Unfortunately for him, his name was Varun. He just could not get it right. There was immense frustration when someone would laugh at his attempt to pronounce his name. That was his little battle and every time he said “Vaoon” he lost but that never deterred him. He soon learnt to say “null” in succession and started calling himself “Varrrrun” till one fine day he was able to say Varun and the satisfaction on his face was touching. Nothing in life comes easy but there is nothing that sincere effort cannot conquer. Whether it is cracking a numerical in Physics or learning dates in history, learning how to ride a bike or saving money to buy one- just about anything requires dedicated work. Your attitude decides whether you will be a winner or a loser.
You may lose a battle or two but you can still win the war if you persist and do not give up. “Winners never quit and quitters never win”.
