A Canine’s Life
My name is Silky. I am six years old. That makes me 60 years old by human standards. My master’s name is Sunny. I love my life. I wake up in the morning and nudge my master awake. Its time to answer nature’s call. Sunny sleepwalks me to the door and lets me out. On the way back he even pours my breakfast cereal and dives back under the cover. My morning business done and breakfast devoured in record speed, its time for me to go on my snoop rounds.
I walk around the yard, smelling the grass and its embarrassing to admit, but I even smell my poop. I have never stooped low enough to eat it but every time Sunny sees me sniff my poop he goes ballistic. He thinks I’m going to eat it. I like to run across the yard and bark at squirrels and the postmen but most of the day I just sit like a princess on the couch sleeping my life away. I like to sleep because it takes me to dream land.
Dreamland is a lovely place to be. There are big chewy bones, and pig ears, and tuna. Food never gets over at Dreamland. The moment I finish one pig ear somebody slides me another. Its amazing. Sameer loves me as much as I love him. He loves to pet me and I never tire of it. My favourite spot to be rubbed is ivy stomach. When Sameer rubs my belly I am in canine heaven. There is no better place to be. Oh! The life ofa canine. I am truly blessed to be a canine.
