A Successful Student
We all want to be successful in whatever field we choose to be in. For a student, the most important objective is to be a successful student. Successful students exhibit a combination of successful attitudes and behavior as well as intellectual capacity. Successful students get involved in their studies, accept responsibility for their own education, and are active participants in it. Responsibility means control. It’s the difference between leading and being led.
Successful students have clear goals and are motivated by what their goals represent in terms of career aspirations and life’s desires. They plan ahead. They are positive thinkers. Positive thinking is based on your internal thoughts, both conscious and subconscious. You are in control, and you can be positive or negative, enthusiastic or dull, active or passive. Successful students minimize classroom distractions that interfere with learning.
These students want the best seat for their education. Students who sit in the back cannot possibly be their professor’s teammate. Why expose themselves to the temptations of inactive classroom experiences and distractions of all the people between them and their instructor when they know that it is a hindrance to efficient and effective learning.
The key to being a successful student or a success in any field that you choose is to be a good time manager. Successful students do not procrastinate. They have learned that time control is life control and have consciously chosen to be in control of their life. An elemental truth about time is that you will either control time or be controlled by it. Learn and internalize these values and become a successful student.
