Adjectives

An adjective is a word which describes or gives more information about a noun or a pronoun. Adjectives are words that show off the qualities of nouns. They describe, size, color, number, kind etc. Sam is clever and shrewd. Here clever and shrewd describe the qualities of Sam the noun. Usually the adjective goes before the noun it describes. She is a tall girl. It can however come after the noun eg: The girl is tall.

Most adjectives do not change form when the noun they describe changes from singular to plural

eg: That is a big tree.

Those are big trees.

There are however some adjectives that do change form. These adjectives are called demonstrative adjectives because they demonstrate what is being referred to.
