An Ethical Dilemma
A tricky situation to be in, an ethical dilemma can really tear you apart. Relationships are very thinly defined and fragile and they are the ones that put you into ethical dilemmas. In most other cases, the truth will bail you out.
When someone you really like is doing the wrong thing which will adversely affect the institution you belong to, despite your attempt to discourage him, turning him in will show ingratitude on your side for he has been helpful in the past, you find yourself in an ethical dilemma. What do you do is the million dollar question? The answer is simple though its execution will be extremely difficult for you. Just turn him in without guilt, for it is in the interest of the larger good. Our parents have imbibed in us values that should not be compromised upon. If this is clear in your mind, situations like the above, no matter how sticky they are, will never pose a problem. Next is the question of white lies. Well, a lie said with good intentions is acceptable when it harms no one. If a dear friend cooks something terrible and offers it with love, praising it seemingly sincerely when you would rather rinse your mouth, is not only acceptable but the right thing to do.
Human beings have a sixth sense. Some listen to it, some do not. If you actually look into yourself, you will know the right path to choose. Have the strength of conviction to stand by what is morally correct- not just legally correct.
