Brain Drain of Asia
Immigration over the years have led to the intermingling of cultures, a global market and more importantly an awareness of what is happening or what is available elsewhere. Everyone wants to move to greener pastures to make a life and when an opportunity knocks, it is grabbed.
Most countries in Asia are developing countries and though opportunities to make it big are available, the struggle is immense. The world is growing smaller with advanced communication and transportation. Everyone is aware of the countries which have abundant wealth and great opportunities for self-growth. Countries like U.S.A and U.K need intelligent and dedicated workers, so they lure the willing “Brains” of these poor Nations. Scholarships to study abroad and irresistible job offers are never turned down especially when you are getting nowhere in your own country and the responsibilities are mounting on you. Thus, begins the brain drain. The doctors, engineers, lawyers, IT wizards, scientists and businessmen that make breakthroughs abroad, have a significant number of Indians, Pakistanis or other Asians and people of other third world countries, amongst them.
Brain drain is affecting Asia in a bad way but unless the developing countries have easily available opportunities for its own people, it cannot be stopped. Corruption, reservation and such evils further increase the process of Brain Drain. If circumstances improve in ones own country, nobody would want to leave the comfort of his or her own soil.
