Dress Code In School
A school is the most sacred place for students as they acquire knowledge that will help them take life by the horns and ride it well! Just as there has to be certain decorum for a place of worship or a place of work, so also should there be decorum for school. The dress code is a small but important part of that decorum.
Talking of India alone, we are a multilingual and multicultural nation, with many religions. Each of us follows certain rituals true to our own religion and culture, which is all very well, but the school is an institution that is above all this. A school has a set standard and the rules are laid out. When admission is sought in a school, it is the duty of the parents to read the dress code as well as other rules and regulations and clarify doubts beforehand. Thereafter, these rules have to be strictly adhered to. The uniform must be immaculate, well ironed and in the right shade and style, the shoes well-polished, the tie and badge in place and finally, the child must have well kempt hair and cut nails. This amounts to discipline. Today, the boys are still acceptable okay but the girls are so stylish; their short skirts sway a little more than required, their socks rolled down, hair stylishly done, bereft of any restrain and see through shirts. Some girls wear trendy earrings as well.
The point is that you go to school to study. If your head is into narcissism you will never do what you came to do, which is to widen your knowledge and learn things that will take you ahead in life.
