First Day At High School
Dressed in my navy blue pinafore, white blouse and navy blue sweater, I looked at myself in the mirror. It was my first day at high school. I wanted to make an impression. I looked at my new navy blue book bag. It looked trendy and smart. I slipped my feet into my white Nike’s and I was set to go. I was looking forward to making new friends. I skipped down the stairs, said goodbye to mom and was off to school on my bicycle.
As I entered the school gates, I looked around for my friends but could not see a single familiar face. Everywhere, girls stood in groups laughing and chatting away. To the side stood one girl who looked lost and scared. I walked up to her and asked her which grade she was in. She said it was her first day in high school. I told her that it was my first day too and we could go look for our classes together. She smiled at me like I was offering her a lifeboat. My mom always says that I am naturally confident and that I should help those who are not so blessed.
We walked together and soon we found our class and outside it, I found some of my old school mates. I introduced my new friend to my old ones and very soon she was a part of our group and we were just another bunch of giggling girls. The bell chimed announcing the beginning of class on the first day of high school.
