Importance of English Language
There are about seven thousand living languages in the world. Among them, the English language is an international language that is spoken all over the world. It is spoken by more than 300 million native speakers, and between 400 and 800 million foreign users. Over the years, English has been of great importance for us.
One main importance is that the world’s best books are written in the English language. So a person with sound knowledge of English can get great academic achievement in his career. In many countries, English is the main medium of science, literature, commerce, and international studies. Realizing this importance, the Ministry of Education in Nepal has also started teaching English from the primary level.
In addition to its importance in the academic field, English is a means not only for international commerce; it has become increasingly essential for inter-state commerce and communication. Without its knowledge, one cannot read the instructions written on many products or things that we use in our life. It is the official language of air transport and shipping; the leading language of international conferences, technology, computers, commerce, employment, etc. Overall, we find the English language used in every aspect of our life so it has become an important language.
