Maintaining A Healthy Lifestyle
Living a healthy lifestyle is the main concern for many people. Because of the busy schedules and hectic lifestyle of most of the people, they are unable to live a healthy lifestyle. A healthy way of life includes eating balanced diet, having regular exercise, getting enough sleep and involving in some recreational activities.
Taking balanced meals with the right amount of carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins and proteins is vital for a healthy way of life. One must consume more fruits, pulses and green leafy vegetables. Regular exercise will not only keep our body slim and fit but also reduces the risk of developing heart disease and diabetes. Exercising on a daily basis for at least 30 minutes per day will do wonders for our health.
We must keep a safe distance from unhealthy habits and activities. Smoking and consuming alcohol is severely harmful to health. Smoking cause life-threatening diseases like heart disease and lung cancer. It also cause premature aging.
Taking a sleep of about 7 to 8 hours a day is very essential. This helps our body to replenish itself. Lack of sleep will make us feel exhausted. It also affects our concentration power. We must also participate in recreational activities. There should be a balance between work, study and leisure. We must always remember, “All work and no play make Jack a dull boy”.
A person can lead a good and diseases free life if both body and mind are in a good and healthy condition. A person avoiding and neglecting hygiene of his body and clothes suffers bad health. Dirty skin, clothes, house, surrounding, etc. are harmful habits of unhealthy lifestyle. We must stay away from dirt because it results into diseases. To keep dirt away from us, we should keep our hands and body clean. A person with filthy habits has no pride for himself. He loses respect of his family, relatives and friends. Thus, healthy lifestyle is not only necessary for one’s health but also to gain respect and praise of others.
People who live a healthy lifestyle tend to be in good health and live longer and happier life. On the other hand, those who do not live a healthy lifestyle are likely to suffer from an illness, stress and negative characteristics.
