My Diary
The only friend I have ever had that has never fought, never demanded, never interrupted and always listened patiently without advising-my diary.
We became friends when I was in the seventh grade but then, I was just using her to add to my sense of style. By the time I was in grade nine, we were inseparable. I could not do without her. A stage had come when she was the only one who had a right over my secrets. I betrayed my family secrets to her occasionally, as well- “Mom has been partial to my brother again just because he is back from the hostel.”She listened as always and was never judgmental. I soon went to college and in the hostel amidst ragging, I found solace in her. I then became a Flight Cadet and I found I had no time for her. I had to do with a note pad which I used, to jot down things to remember, nothing else. After a year and a half, when I became an Officer, I found her and our friendship picked up from where we left it.
I am married and have two children but she is there with me, quiet and undemanding, ready to take my pains and sorrow and relieve me of my burden. What would I do without you, dear Diary?
