My Funniest Experience
Each one of us experiences certain good as well as bad things in life. There can be happiest, saddest and funniest incidents taking place in life.
My father has an old Ambassador car. It is more than sixty years old model. It is nothing more than a showpiece. Its white paint is peeled off and its body seems to be affected by several diseases together. Its doors and the rusted carrier are tied with ropes. The car has no windscreen. Its body has so many dents that it appears like a shield of a great warrior. The car moves at its will and even stops at its will.
Last Sunday we took out the car on the road to take part in an old-fashioned car rally. Before the rally started, we were perspiring badly because my cousins and I had to push the car to make it started. My father turned the steering wheel and made many efforts to start the car but to no advantage. Suddenly, its whole body began to shake as if it had an earthquake within it. My father pressed the accelerator and the car luckily started. We all shouted as if we had won the war.
The engine started to make an irritable sound and soon the car stopped. We were disappointed and our enthusiasm to participate in the rally vanished. Now my father decided to open the bonnet and check the engine. He did not lose his patience. All of us kept on encouraging him and finally, the car started.
Just next to my door lives a tailor with his son. He likes to talk and crack funny jokes. His son studies in college. My friends and I call him ‘dada’. He is very good in English and Science. Sometimes he helps us in our studies.
Just opposite to our flat lives Mr Atmaram with his very aged mother. He works in a private office. He is always in haste while leaving for the job. He comes very late at night. He seems to be a hard working person.
If any of my neighbours have prepared special food on holidays or Sundays, we take it to each other’s house. This helps in increasing love, unity and affection between us. We all come together and celebrate different festivals. Whenever there is a good occasion, we invite each other at our places.
Above my flat, Mr and Mrs Gala stay with their children. No one other than this family lives on second floor. Mr Gala always dresses untidily. He is very noisy and rowdy fellow. We hear him screaming on his children. His wife is an uncultured woman. She never speaks politely. We like to keep a distance from this family.
Besides couple of neighbours, my neighbourhood is filled with affection, care, unity, high regards and respect towards each other. I am lucky to have such loving neighbours. At times, I think that neighbours are my nearest relatives.
