New Trends
Youngsters in school and colleges are better aware of new trends then the older generation. There are new trends in just about any field- sports, fashion, social dos, outlook on life and even academics.
Life is forever evolving. It is all about change. Old thoughts, remedies, rituals and beliefs make way for new trends. New trends are met with resistance by the older generation, which again is natural because no one likes to leave their comfort zone no matter how beneficial or logical a new proposal seems. Yet, new trends mean progress. If we never changed and never adopted new ideas the world would not be what it is today. Transportation, Communication, TV, Computer, I pod (the list is endless) would be nonexistent if we did not welcome and adapt to change. Agreed that not all new trends are for the better, for example, broken homes, living – in relationships, drugs, loss of values, increased violence, erosion of trust and higher ideals are unwelcome trends but professionalism, better standards of living, awareness of the gravity of the Earth’s situation and an attempt to change it are all new trends that are admirable.
Nature is beyond our control. We cannot stop ageing or death and we cannot stop new life similarly we cannot cling to old trends rigidly especially when a new trend is more sound. Values and tradition will remain but perhaps a little altered. If a trend is disturbing, keep the faith for this too shall pass.
