Our School-Farewell
Last Monday, our school, Shri Hansaben Lalwani High School bid farewell to the students of standard tenth. A grand function was organized for us.
The students were invited to the school hall, which was artistically decorated by the students of class ninth. One could see their efforts to give us the best farewell, which we could never forget.
We, the students of class tenth who were about to step outside the comfortable environment of the school were asked to identify our ability, talent, ambitions and aspirations.
The judge for the evening was Mrs Roxana Ookajee, retired Principal of our school. She was accompanied by our Principal and Mr Minoo Kawasji a senior Hindi professor of a local Junior College. The students of class ninth had organized a personality contest for us where we walked on the ramp in style and grace displaying our confidence and talent. We were also asked thought provoking questions by the judges in order to test our positive attitude.
Yashodhan Ajyinkya and Shabana Surani were crowned with the title Mr and Miss SHL. There were loud cheers and applause by the crowd. Our Principal showered her blessings on us and wished us very good luck and best of success in our coming life. She presented us with a school souvenir as a token of love and appreciation.
Our farewell programme also included stunning dance performances choreographed and performed by the students of class ninth. Some students of class ninth put together innovative games thus expressing their love for their seniors.
The best part of the function was systematically carried out candle lighting ceremony. The candles were exchanged between the leaders of class tenth and the leaders of class ninth. The candles symbolised the values of affection, compassion, admiration and integrity. Our singing teacher, Mrs Shanti dedicated us a song on the behalf of all the teachers and staff expressing their love and fondness for the students.
All the students enjoyed the programme and some of them came onto the stage and expressed their gratitude and emotions. Overall, it was an emotional evening for all.
