Science Exhibition cum Funfair In Our School
We the students of Shri Heerabai Educational Academy conducted a science fair and fun fair at our school premises. We put up our exhibition for the audience. Our school was busy with different arrangements and activities throughout the morning. Once the exhibition started, we began explaining our projects to visiting audience. The exhibition ranged from posters, projections, charts to working models.
One of the main benefits behind conducting this exhibition was the excellent opportunity to display our talent and creativity to the visitors. This exhibition helped us in learning more beyond our test books. We explained different concepts that were deep-seated in our minds.
Mrs Zinaifer, retired Science teacher and former Principal of Delzonian High School was the chief guest and judge for the exhibition. She appreciated the efforts and hard work of the students. She also expressed her difficulties to judge the best model. However, for me such exhibitions brought out the best within us and motivated us to follow science.
For the exhibition, we were divided into three groups. The first group comprised students from classes I to V. The students of classes VI and VII were part of the second group. The final group consisted of students from class VIII and IX.
Each exhibit was awarded marks on the parameters of the topic that it covered and the presentation skills of the student. Besides the academic aspect, such exhibition increases our confidence. We not only learnt different scientific notions through this exhibition, but also how to exhibit these concepts in the form of interesting models.
Our science exhibition was accompanied by a fun fair. We set up stalls to present games and snacks like Hakka Noodles, Samosas, limewater, etc. We got an opportunity to market our products. Over the past seven days all the displays, games and ingredients for the snacks were prepared by us. All appreciated our efforts.
Some of the interesting projects were shortlisted by the respective judge. Names were announced and many projects and models begged the prizes. All of us felt very proud to collect our respective prize from the judge. A project on the working of doorbell exhibited by a group of students of class IXth was awarded as the best science project of the year.
