The bird who chewed the bubblegum
As usual Kshitij spat his bubblegum out of the window in to his garden. He opened the little cage hanging on his window and let his canaries out. It was their playtime. Their wings were clipped so they couldn’t fly around. They just hopped up and down the ledge. Still he liked to get them out of the cage for some time every day. They chirped happily as they hopped around. He went back to play with his Game boy.
Suddenly, the chirps started sounding almost like croaks. He went to the ledge to investigate. He found to his horror that one of his canaries couldn’t open its beak. The croaking sound came from him. When he bent down to investigate, he found that there was something sticky in the canary’s beak because of which it couldn’t open its beak. Kshitij quickly slid a stick into the canary’s mouth and got hold of the sticky mass only to find that it was none other than the bubblegum he had carelessly spat out. He felt ashamed of himself; his canary could have died because of his carelessness.
