The Eagle that couldn’t fly
One day George heard a cacophony of sounds. He saw twenty crows flying in a circle cawing wildly around an eagle. Normally an eagle is the one chasing prey, but here it was the other way around. The eagle suddenly dropped down onto the ground. George scared the crows away but the eagle just sat there. It looked like it had been hurt. George lassoed its beak so it wouldn’t peck and put a sack over it. Later when he removed the eagle from the sack he realized that someone had clipped the poor eagle’s wings.
George began to feed the eagle little bits of meat every day. Soon it started growing stronger. George put it on a long string and left it in the balcony. It hopped around all day and soon started looking forward to George feeding it. One day, six months later George saw it attempting to raise its feathers in flight. He was overjoyed. He freed the eagle and watched it fly high into the night sky.
