You are grounded!

You are grounded! The words rang through the house. It meant that I would have no play time. would be confined to my room and the television connection in my room would be severed. my broadband connection would be cut off. Getting grounded for a week meant that mom was very upset.

Mom and dad had gone out for a business meeting and I bunked guitar classes and brought my friends home in their absence to party. Mom returned early and found me with my friends at home eating popcorn and watching a movie. My friends disappeared in a jiffy and I was left alone to face mom’s wrath.

I can’t wait for this week to end. I have cleaned all my cupboards, my desk and completed all my books. There is nothing left to do. I sit in my room moping hoping mom will relent. I will never make the same mistake again.
