Essay on “An Accident”
There was an accident just on the outskirts of the town yesterday. The driver of a car coming out of a side road did not stop. It did not even slow down. There was a car coming along the main road at the time. It crashed into the side of the other car. My parents and I witnessed the accident. We were driving back into town from my grandmother’s house. Our car was just behind the car that crashed. My Dad is a doctor. He parked our car at the side of the road. He took his mobile out and phoned the police. Then he went to see if anyone was hurt. Mum and I stayed in the car. We did not want to be in the way when the police came. The driver of the car in front of us was OK. She got out of the car. She and Dad went to the other car. The driver’s door was badly damaged. It would not open. Soon the police arrived and got the driver out. They sent for an ambulance. Dad told us later that the driver had hurt his leg badly. Dad had to give a statement to the police. Then we were able to go home. I was sobbing. I hate the thought of car crashes.
