Essay on “Watching a Circus”
Dad bought tickets for the circus as a surprise. My brother Sumit and I were thrilled when he told us. We had seen circuses on TV, but we had never been to a live one. The circus was held in a very large tent. We had seats near the front. We could see really well. I liked the clowns best. They made me laugh out loud. They wore funny clothes and had painted faces. They fell over a lot and did funny tricks. They threw custard pies at each other. Dad liked the acrobats best. They walked along a high tight rope. They swung from trapezes and hung upside down from them. Sumit and I were a bit scared. We were in case the clowns fell and hurt themselves. Dad said that there was a safety net below them. Some of the acrobats were on horseback. The horses were lovely. They were black and had beautiful manes. One of the acrobats stood on one leg on her horse. Fortunately, she did not fall off. At the end of the show, all the performers came into the ring. An elephant led them. We all applauded loudly. Everyone has enjoyed the circus very much.
