What is Wall Street?

Wall Street is, in a literal sense, a street in New York City. The major financial institutions of the United States are located here. Wall Street denotes the entire financial district which extends many blocks north and south of the street as well as an area west of Broadway. It is also where the New York stock exchange is located.
