Napolean’s bed
Quila House, Patna, contains a very unique piece of furniture: a bed that once belonged to Napolean! In addition, there is also a private collection of Chinese paintings. If it is hard for visitors to believe Napolean’s bed is in Bihar, it was even harder for our late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to agree to eat off a silver thali that is said to have been Emperor Akbar’s prime minister, Birbal’s! It is said that it took a lot of persuasion from the Jalan family (who own Quila House and whose possessions these are), to do so when Chacha Nehru visited their place for the second time in 1952.
