The world’s biggest school

The 2013 Guinness Book of Records recognises City Montessori School, Lucknow, as the biggest school in the world. Started in 1959 by Dr. Jagdish Gandhi and his wife, Bharati, with only five students, the school today has over 47,000 students on its rolls, 1000 classrooms, a staff of 3800 teachers, support staff, cleaners, rickshaw drivers, electricians, carpenters, and gardeners. It also has 3700 computers.
