A Song That Means A Lot To Me

Our music teacher strummed the notes on the guitar and I fell in love with the tune instantly. The song was mesmerizing and transported me to another world. He started singing the song — Country roads, take me home. I found the lyrics very meaningful and they touched a raw nerve in me, reminding me of my parents. I learnt how to play the song and have sung it ever since childhood. It transports me back to my hostel days, bringing along the yearning to return home to Mummy. Friends say I play this song the best and sing it with a lot of feels, which is true. It has been my favourite song for its simplicity, its evergreen quality and the happiness it gives me.
