Gone Fishing

I celebrated my birthday party at the beautiful Rainbow Lake surrounded by ‘Weeping willows’. Four close friends were invited and we got down to packing the essentials. I packed the new fishing rod and the motorboat while daddy and mummy packed the mats, a chocolate cake, and other eats along with the return gifts! We all drove in our pickup van to the lake.

We offloaded our goodies and took a stroll to the small ‘cape’ from where we could fish, totally free from bushes and branches. While Arjun and I took to fishing, the others watched as the motorboat sped through the waters. We used spin-fishing gear and the fly-fishing rod alternately till we hooked and landed a Rainbow trout! Delighted with the catch, I shouted ‘eureka’. Then my friends had a go. We caught five fishes in all but let them go!

I got back home, dreaming of yet another party at the same lake.
