My Days in A Boarding School
I spent a good portion of my childhood in a boarding school with a mélange of children from different states and countries and that made us truly cosmopolitan.
We’d have activity-packed days right from morning games to classes and parade, interspersed with delicious meals. A typical day began at 4.30 am and ended at 9.45 pm. We indulged in every possible game and activity, as also sound studies. Sundays and holidays were meant for lots of music, dancing, some TV and a movie. We of course found time in between, for berry hunting, tree climbing, scouting around the jungles for anything tasty and plucking the fruits on the trees. Some things were even better—entering the half-made auditorium and singing/dancing on stage like an artist.
Those days are gone but the friends remain to share memories. Though tough, a boarding life better equipped me in discipline, culture, independence, confidence and leadership for a competitive outside world.
