My Love for Gardening

My love for gardening began at the age of five while helping my parents tend to our garden in Bangalore. I would feel an incredibly soothing Streak, running my hands through fresh soil or being knee deep in dirt as I’d sow the seeds or transplant a seedling oh-so-carefully into the ground. I felt immense pleasure and personal accomplishment seeing the progression of growth in our garden before my eyes. The variety, the colour, the beauty of flowers; and relishing the vegetables from our very own garden was exhilarating. Whenever mom would ask us to bring some tomatoes or another, there would be a race between me and my sister to be the first to fetch. Invariably, she would win as she is five year elder to me.

After a stressful day, our family found it most convenient to unwind and relax among the beautiful greens of the garden.
