However, Japan mastered and refined it. Today, the art of miniature bonsai is popular across the globe. Bonsais can be made with a variety of plants such as Chinese orange, banyan tree, peepal tree, jade tree, tamarind tree, gooseberry bush, bougainvillea and several others. The designing is left to the creativity and imagination of the human mind. Tree roots are rimmed as are the branches to regulate the shape and growth.
