A good deed

One day me and my friend Amit were walking back from school. Suddenly, a car raced down the bend and ran over a stray puppy. The car owner sped away despite hearing the little puppy yelping in pain. The puppy was limping badly; he kept trying to stand up in vain.

Amit managed to stop another car. The car owner agreed to drop us at the vet. I carried Amit’s school bag while he carried the puppy. When we reached the vet, we suddenly realized we didn’t have any money. However, the Doc kindly agreed to do us a favour. We waited for half an hour while he tended to him. Meanwhile, we called Mom and Dad and they came to pick us up. Mom and Dad said that we had made them proud that day by doing such a good deed. They surprised us by agreeing to let us keep the puppy. Our good deed had saved the puppy, but it had also made it possible for us to have a puppy.
