If I Could Wish

I wish all the time. In fact, I believe that our day dreams are all manifestations of our wishes. Not all wishes come true but I never forget to wish. In fact, I still cross my fingers when I see a mail van and make a wish and do not open my fingers till I see a four legged animal. I picked that up in the second grade but I just cannot seem to give it up. Actually, I do believe it works!

Can you believe that a mother is chided by her child for believing in this mail van? May be it is psychological or maybe the wishes that do come true were meant to happen anyway, but my wishes to the mail van are always heard. Of course, my wishes are attainable and very desperately sought. When I spot a mail van but have no urgent wish, I never wish for myself. I wish for the happiness of the people around me or the world at large. My wishes are never greedy. Perhaps, that is why they come true.

If I had a magic lamp, it would be the same. I do not believe in pushing my luck. “If I could wish” is not for me, for I can wish!
