My Favorite Channel
Travel and living is my favorite channel. For those like me, who cannot afford to visit the different countries of the world, it is a gift to be able to watch the snow in Switzerland, the Statue of Liberty in New York and the Eiffel Tower in France while sitting at home in my favorite rocking chair.
Travel and living is my favorite because it combines my two favorite loves: food and travel. My favorite show is the ‘Anthony Bourdain: No reservations’ show. As I rock myself back and forth on my favourite rocking chair I can’t help but envy Anthony Bourdain. Imagine getting paid to see new places and sample new cuisines. I could get used to that. I might draw the line at eating insects but then again if they were going to pay me to do it I just might. My other favorite is the ‘Nigella Feasts’ show. Nigella’s practical, unfussy approach to entertaining and quality comfort food pooled with the luscious camera shots and beautiful Nigella’s sensual enjoyment of eating make this a must-see.
Globe trekker is another one of my favorites. The host of the episode travels with a camera crew to an exotic locale and experiences firsthand the sights, sounds, food, culture that the location has to offer. It goes beyond the usual tourists destinations to feature the actual local culture. Back packer interviews and sharing personal experiences make this show real and interesting. Everyday this show transports me to another part of the world and keeps me going back for more.
