New Year’s Party

Every year we wait for the New Year’s Party which begins around eight in the evening on 31st Decemb and ends in the wee hours of 1st January

‘Sunder lawns’ was the venue and we could hear the Music as Dad parked the car. As soon as we got in Dad and Mom got busy talking with their friends, while my sister and I attacked the delicacies on the buffet tables. We had a bite and then went to the floor to dance. At 11.59p.m. they stopped the music and everyone began the countdown 60, 59, S8_ Suddenly the lights went off and at the strike of twelve everybody began to shout out Happy New Year. Fire crackers in different colours burst into the sky welcoming the New Year. We had dinner after that and watched the others while they danced.

Good food, good music and good company made the New Year’s Party the best party of the year.
