Saving the drowning cat
One day we were trekking past a little pond when we saw a mother cat, standing on a branch hanging over the pond purring because her kitten had fallen into the water. The kitten still held on desperately with one leg to the leaves of the branch.
Immediately, my friends and I threw down our bags and swam across the shallow pond and caught hold of the kitten. As we swam back the kitten rode on my back holding on tightly to the back of my collar with its paws. When we got out of the pool, the kitten refused to let go of my collar. My friends caught the kitten by the back of its neck and placed it down on the ground. It was soaking wet and seemed really frightened. We rubbed it with a hand towel and it started purring softly. The kitten jumped out of our hands the moment it saw its mother and both of them began to lick one another. We knew the kitten was in safe hands now and decided to continue our trek.
