SMS

SMS stands for ‘Short Message Service’, technology we use to send one another text messages through mobile phones.

With the advent of SMS, pagers became redundant. The SMS is very convenient and has many different features that make it attractive. First they are sent and received almost immediately and the best part is that you don’t have to read them immediately. They get stored on your mobile and you can read them at leisure. One SMS can be sent to several different people at one time. Also because the medium is mobile phone the messages are delivered to the person wherever he is.

A SMS can accommodate only a certain number of characters hence users have started using short forms while sending SMS. Mobile phones are banned in most schools because students send each other SMS’ without the teacher’s knowledge.
